I’ve often said that the work we do at AccessNow is not about me but about enabling and empowering our entire community of people with disabilities, activists, advocates and allies to do more and reach new heights.
Our platform is about vocalizing the needs and rights of lived experiences of disability around the world and generating enough visibility that barriers to access can no longer be ignored.
I am so thrilled to share the exciting news that AccessNow has won the Governor General Innovation Award as announced last week. I accept this #GGIA2020 award on behalf of our entire community. It’s moments like this that validate our efforts as a movement. We are changing the world, one grassroots step at a time. Every voice counts.
