When Uber exploded onto the scene, everyone was super excited, everyone was using it, and people with disabilities just weren’t part of that. For years, Uber has had little-to-no accessible service. But that’s all changing.

Last week our founder Maayan Ziv was the first person to try Uber’s new and improved UberWAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle) service in Toronto. The company has relaunched UberWAV, partnering with private transportation companies like Dignity Transportation to add more accessible vehicles to their system and is now offering WAV rides at UberX rates. #Progress

We are really hoping that other businesses take note of Uber’s commitment to accessibility and consider how they too can contribute to the movement for access. Bravo Uber, bravo.
