CODE OF CONDUCT
AccessFest exists to celebrate, advocate for, and activate accessibility through culture, community, and shared experience. We are committed to creating a space where everyone feels welcome, respected, and able to fully participate.
AccessFest is not a place for behavior that is inappropriate, harmful, disruptive, or exclusionary.
We define inappropriate behavior as any conduct that violates our policies, undermines the spirit of inclusion, or causes harm to others. This includes, but is not limited to:
- harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind
- use of derogatory, ableist, racist, sexist, or otherwise harmful language or actions
- unwanted physical or verbal interaction
- disruptive or unsafe behavior
- any illegal activity
This Code of Conduct applies to all participants — including attendees, speakers, performers, staff, volunteers, partners, and vendors — across all AccessFest spaces. This includes the festival grounds, workshops, partner events, and any digital or social engagement connected to AccessFest before, during, and after the event.
AccessFest reserves the right to take action in response to any behavior that does not align with these standards. This may include removal from the event without warning or refund, and restriction from future AccessNow events or programs.
We ask all attendees to respect current public health guidance and to be mindful of the diverse access needs of those around them. Accessibility is a shared responsibility.
If you experience or witness a violation of this Code of Conduct, please notify a member of the AccessFest team on-site or contact us at fest@accessnow.ca. We will take all reports seriously and respond as quickly as possible.
Please note that reporting to AccessFest does not replace reporting to local authorities.
